Our Offerings

Interfaith Spiritual Care

If you are struggling with life’s challenges, are in a time of transition, are feeling lost, facing grief, or seeking a deeper or renewed connection to a Higher Power, I provide deep compassion, understanding, skillful listening, guidance and support to help you navigate through challenging times and find your way back to a sense of increased peace and wholeness.

  • My approach is steeped in tender spiritual care centered in providing a safe space, free of judgment or agenda. With open-minded curiosity, together we will explore your heart and mind’s questions, confusions, longings and needs. In this process, we can come to wider perspectives, deeper meanings, life-sustaining reconnections, and re-establishing trust in your own inner knowing.

With a degree in Specialized Ministry and years of work as an interfaith chaplain, I bring my own life journey, spiritual grounding, sincerity, and expertise to those I serve, no matter their faith or spiritual background.

  • ·       Self-Discovery and the Spiritual Journey

When in pain or feeling lost, gaining a deeper insight into our inner self and our life story can be transformative. This journey can involve self-reflection, exploring beliefs, and deepening the connection to our Higher Power, fostering inner growth and transformation.

    ·       Grief and Loss / Death and Dying

I have deep experience in ministering to those dealing with grief and loss. As a former hospice chaplain in grief support, I have worked with hundreds of clients and families on their journey from death and dying through grief to healing. Please visit my Grief Support page to learn more.

Please note that spiritual care is not therapy. I provide comfort, understanding and the search for meaning, purpose and peace through the exploration of beliefs, which is not the same as psychological counseling or therapy. If you are unsure which is appropriate for you at this time, we can explore that question together.

  • Q: What is the difference between therapy/counseling and spiritual care?

While both spiritual care and therapy support individuals, spiritual care seeks to find meaning, purpose, comfort and understanding through beliefs, whereas therapy focuses on addressing psychological issues.

If you are unsure which is appropriate for you at this time, we can explore this together during a phone call. > Contact button

    Q: What does interfaith mean?

Interfaith support refers to a positive interaction between people of different faiths or spiritual backgrounds. It involves collaborative efforts and is aimed at promoting understanding and respect. I provide a safe space free of proselytizing or preaching while focusing on the client’s spiritual needs.

Q: Do I have to be spiritual to receive your support?

In seeking spiritual care, one hopes to find meaning, purpose, and comfort through a deeper understanding of the beliefs and worldviews that frame our human experience. They don’t have to be “spiritual” per se to fit into the categories of “life-giving” or “life-denying.” Feel free to contact me so we can discuss if we would be a good fit.

Q: What is the format and cost of a Spiritual Care session?

Spiritual Care typically names and focuses on one issue at one time. This may be a recent loss, a conflict at work, or a specific spiritual concern. In just 3-4 sessions, we typically see improved understanding, peace, and clarity about steps ahead. This includes guided reflections between sessions. Sessions are one hour, either in person or on ZOOM. They start at $ 70.00.  Sliding fee .

Grief & Loss, Death & Dying

We can greatly benefit from solid and heartfelt guidance when we walk the grief journey or face physical decline and end of life. I offer guidance and support to help you navigate through these challenging times and uncharted territory.

  • Grieving is often a lonely path, which can feel unbearable when traveled alone. Compassionate presence, emotional and spiritual support, and a deep understanding of the grief process are the areas of experience and expertise I bring to companioning you through your grief journey.

With over 12 years in hospice grief support and chaplaincy, and as a certified grief educator, it has been my great honor and privilege to walk alongside the bereaved, to hold grieving hearts with tenderness, and to be a safe space and trusted resource through this valley. From a profound understanding of the grief process, I offer my compassion, experience, knowledge and skill to guide the bereaved  the territory of grief and loss. This work has been a large part of my life‘s and my heart’s calling.

I have worked with individuals and groups and taught classes on walking through grief. I can also be a helpful resource for the practical details families face after the death of a loved one. Please note that Grief Support is not therapy. Together we can determine if grief support or psychological counseling is more appropriate for you at this time.

  • Facing our mortality requires heartfelt and solid guidance. Interfaith spiritual and emotional support for families, practical assistance, and advocacy with a hospice and palliative care background can ease anxiety and stress, creating space for solace and serenity in final weeks and days. Please reach out if you are looking for support in this area or would like some assistance as you explore options for a memorial service, celebration of life or funeral.

Whether you are in the midst of the death and dying journey, or are walking the path of grief, I invite you to reach out to explore the kinds of support that I can offer you at this time.

Ceremonies & Special Events

Ceremonies commemorate, celebrate, honor, share, and create sacred time and space.

I believe in the power of rites and ritual action to provide profound experiences that transcend the ordinary and elevate us, opening us up to meaningful, transcendent moments and shared universal values.

  • I am dedicated to co-creating memorable experiences with you – imbued with a sense of the sacred, whatever that may mean to you -- that uniquely express your vision, whether for a wedding, a funeral, welcoming new life, celebrating healing and recovery, a significant life transition, or any meaningful life event that calls out to be recognized in ceremony and ritual.

My goal is to work with you to craft individualized ceremonies that resonate with your heart and soul, whether in a small, intimate setting or inviting in your larger community. Whether joyful celebration or commemorating loss, the sharing of the occasion should be lit with depth, meaning, a heartfelt sharing/communion, and, hopefully, transformative moments touching the eternal.

Please contact me to explore your hope, vision, and wishes for your special occasion. I look forward to helping you create a beautiful, meaningful, memorable ceremony.

  • Funerals, memorials, and celebrations of life are profound and sacred moments where we honor and remember our loved ones. With 13 years of experience in hospice grief support and interfaith chaplaincy, I bring compassion, warmth, and understanding to these powerful life passages. My goal is to co-create ceremonies that acknowledge the pain of loss but also celebrate the life lived, providing space for joy and sorrow, as well as providing support, comfort and solace to all attendees. Meaningful rituals and spiritual/scriptural elements can be incorporated in accordance with the family’s preferences and beliefs.

Weddings are a beautiful celebration of love and commitment. I am honored to co-create ceremonies that reflect your hearts and values, whether for a small, intimate gathering or a large celebration. Grounded in spirituality or human love, with or without scripture, we can create a meaningful, beautiful and memorable experience for your special day.

Other ceremonies: Significant life events and transitions can benefit from ritual and acknowledgment. These ceremonies can be personalized to reflect your values, hopes, and dreams. Here are some examples:

    ·       Renewing Vows: Celebrating the miracle of ongoing love and commitment that has endured over time.

    ·       Releasing and Letting Go: Moving forward from painful experiences.

    ·       Adoptions and Births: Welcoming new family members.

    ·       Recovery from Illness: Celebrating healing and recovery.

    ·       New Home Blessings: Creating belonging in a new space.

    ·       Anniversaries of a Passing: Honoring the memory of loved ones.

  • Q: Does a ceremony need to be for many people?

Not at all. Meaning-making, honoring, letting go, or letting in can be honored in any setting. Although traditionally, supporting and witnessing one another in the shared ritual experience play an important role, a ceremony can be held in a small group or even just for yourself.

Q: Do you have access to a venue?

Locating an appropriate venue is typically driven by the client’s preferences and needs. Contact me with your questions or concerns.

Guest Ministry & Pastoral Support

If you need a guest speaker for Sunday sermons, pastoral support, programs or retreats, I would be honored to help. I have 9 years of experience officiating services and delivering sermons at Unity in the Rockies in Colorado Springs. My spiritual roots are in Sufi Mysticism and Unity Metaphysics.

My sermons, each tailored to fit your congregation’s Order of Service, are approximately 30 minutes long. They address broad spiritual themes and our shared human experience, offering practical ways to expand our minds and spiritualize our consciousness. I typically include prayer and guided meditation to provide a direct experience of connection with the Divine, transformation, and spiritual growth. https://unityrockies.org/home/weekly-lessons

  • I also have deep experience in ministering to those dealing with grief and loss. As a former hospice chaplain in grief support, I often speak on grief and lead grief events, groups or classes for congregations or ministers. These offerings provide a safe space for sharing experiences, receiving emotional support, and finding healing. Topics include:

    • Understanding the Grief Process: Navigating the grief journey and myths of grief.

    • Coping with Loss: Practical strategies and emotional support in loss.

    • Healing Through Ritual: The role of rituals in providing comfort and solace.

    • Companioning Others in Grief: Offering compassionate presence and support.

    • Finding Meaning in Loss: Discovering purpose and meaning on/in the grief journey.

  • I officiate special events and ceremonies (such as memorials and funerals) and facilitate communal rituals for congregations. I believe that rituals can speak louder than words, bringing together families, congregations and communities to celebrate, mourn, honor and to share hope, celebration, support, vision and meaning. Some examples of congregational rituals I have led and offer include:

    ·       Burning Bowl Ceremony: Typically celebrated around winter solstice or on New Year’s Eve, this ritual invites all participants to put in writing things they want to release or let go of, such as negative thoughts, habits, or experiences. The paper is then burned in the burning bowl. This act symbolizes letting go and making way for new beginnings.

    ·       Blue Holidays/Christmas for the Bereaved: A compassionate space for those grieving during the holiday season, this ceremony includes poetry, readings, songs, and candle lighting rituals that honor loved ones and offer support.

I will be happy to work with you to create any type of special ceremony or ritual that might serve your congregation. Please reach out to me to discuss whatever needs your congregation or ministerial staff might have.
